SOlgar Ubiquinol 100 mg provides ubiquinol (as Kaneka UbiquinolTM) which is the active form of CoQ-10 coenzyme and is found in the metabolic active tissues of the body, such as skeletal or cardiac muscles.
Co-enzyme CoQ-10 exists in two chemical forms – oxidized (ubicinone) and reduced (ubicinol). Ubiquinol is found in large amounts in body tissues that are very metabolicly active, such as skeletal muscles, heart muscles and liver cells.
In younger, healthy adults the conversion of ubiquinone (the most common form of coenzyme Q-10) to ubiquinol in body cells is almost immediate. But as our body produces less and less coenzyme Q-10 over time, the conversion of CoQ-10 (ubicinone) to ubiquinol is less effective.
