SOLOGAR Phytosterol Complex provides a combination of phytosterols (natural soy sterols) and other sterol esters such as beta sitosterol & stigmasterol, which helps reduce blood cholesterol.
Phytosterols are fatty acid esters present in plants and have a molecular structure very similar to cholesterol. There are more than 200 different types of phytosterols, such as sitosterol beta, brassikasterol, cabersterol and stigmasterol. Natural sources of phytosterols are vegetable oils, nuts and nut oils, seeds, cereals and certain types of bean.
Due to the similar cholesterol structure, phytosterols are considered to be involved in cholesterol synthesis and reduce the production and absorption of poor cholesterol or LDL. Plant sterols help reduce blood cholesterol.
